Instagram Celebrates Lunar New Year With Stickers, AR Effect, Programming

Instagram is ringing in the Year of the Ox with stickers, an augmented reality effect and programming on its platform to mark Lunar New Year Friday (Feb. 12).

Graphic designer and illustrator Naomi Otsu created three stickers to honor the Year of the Ox, and they will be available through Feb. 17.

Instagram also released an AR effect for Stories that highlights the various animals and signs of the Chinese Zodiac.

And the @instagram account will feature Moon-mi You, a food artist from Korea, Thursday; and Lily Hevesh, a domino artist from the U.S., Friday.
