Instagram added a Content Publishing API (application-programming interface) to its Graph API Platform, making it easier for businesses to publish content to the Facebook-owned photo-and video-sharing network.

The new Content Publishing API was tested with partners including Dash Hudson, Hootsuite, Khoros, Planoly, Sprinklr and Sprout Social.

The API supports scheduling and publishing of single-photo or single-video posts to feed for business accounts, with each account limited to 25 API-published posts within a 24-hour moving period.

Instagram said this rate limit has no impact on other publishing methods, so business accounts can continue to publish posts via the native Instagram application or Facebook
