Meta will have to endure another key departure, as head of Messenger Stan Chudnovsky said he will leave the company at some point in the second quarter of 2022.
Chudnovsky joined Facebook in February 2015 as head of product for messaging, after serving as vice president of growth, corporate strategy and special operations at PayPal for nearly two years.
He became head of Messenger in May 2018, when David Marcus, who also left Meta last month, shifted his focus to cryptocurrency.
When Chudnovsky departs Meta, vp, messaging experience, Messenger and Instagram Loredana Crisan will assume his responsibilities covering Instagram DMs, Messenger and Messenger Kids, while vp, remote presence Maher Saba will oversee remote products including audio calling, Rooms and video calling.
