Google Extends WhatsApp Chat History Migration From iOS Devices

Google said Tuesday that the ability for WhatsApp users to migrate their chat history between operating systems was extended to all Google Pixel devices and any phone rolling out with Android 12.

WhatsApp debuted the feature at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event in August, starting on Samsung Galaxy foldable models.

It was added for all Samsung devices running Android 10 or higher last month.

Google product manager Paul Dunlop wrote in a blog post Tuesday, “Historically, certain types of data were impossible to bring across when switching from an iPhone to Android.
