Facebook Teams Up With The Recycling Partnership to Provide Community-Specific Information

A Messenger experience was rolled out initially in Atlanta, Fort Worth

Facebook marked Global Recycling Day Thursday by teaming up with The Recycling Partnership on national initiative Communities for Recycling.

The social network said in a Newsroom post Thursday that 20 million tons of recyclable materials instead head to landfills every year, with just 32% of recyclable materials being collected and recycled, according to The Recycling Partnership.

Public confusion over what, where, when and how to recycle properly is a key driver of this issue, with local communities in the U.S.
