Facebook will begin showing news pages in Australia again in the coming days after withdrawing access five days ago, after reaching an agreement with the Australian government.

Facebook and Aussie legislators have negotiated changes to the News Media Bargaining Code. With changes in place, Facebook has agreed to reinstate news pages in the nation. 

During the ban, publisher traffic took a tumble (especially outside Australia) as users couldn’t access news sites. Satire accounts became the most shared pages, stoking fears that misinformation would spread even more widely.
