Facebook Outlines Push for Equitable Access to Covid-19 Vaccines

With availability of Covid-19 vaccines continuing to expand, Facebook outlined steps it is taking to push for equitable access to those vaccines.

Head of health Kang-Xing Jin said in a Newsroom post that the company is focusing on four ways of doing this: fundraising for global vaccine equity; promoting reliable information to the communities that are most affected by Covid-19; amplifying trusted messengers; and sharing insights and tools.

Jin said more than 87% of the over 700 million doses that have been administered globally have gone to high-income or upper-middle-income countries, so Facebook is donating $5 million to Go Give One, a fundraising campaign created by the World
