Facebook released its Sustainability Report for 2020 this week, saying that it met its goals of reaching net zero emissions and 100% renewable energy for its global operations.

The company also reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 94% from 2017 levels, exceeding its goal of 75%.

Other highlights from the 2020 report included:

  • The company’s renewable energy portfolio totaled over 5.9 gigawatts of wind and solar projects under contract, and it increased its operating portfolio of wind and solar to over 2.8
