Facebook Details Why Some Content’s News Feed Distribution Is Reduced

Its community standards outline why content is removed altogether


Reasons why Facebook may remove content from its News Feed are clearly detailed within its community standards, and the social network published its content distribution guidelines Thursday to shed more light on why content may receive reduced distribution on News Feed.

Director of product management Anna Stepanov explained in a Newsroom post, “As we work to improve News Feed, we rely on overarching core values to guide that process. The changes we make, particularly ones focused on limiting the spread of problematic content, are based on extensive feedback from our global community and external experts.
