Facebook Changes Its Messaging as the Polls Begin to Close

People will see reminders that they are eligible to vote if they are already in line at closing time

As the polls begin to close on Election Day, beginning with the East Coast, Facebook will adjust the notification it is displaying atop users’ News Feeds.

People are currently seeing information about in-person voting or options to drop off mail-in ballots.

However, the social network said that as polls begin to close, its notifications will remind people that as long as they are already in line at closing time, they are eligible to vote.
