Facebook expanded upon its crackdown on groups that violate its rules, adding to measures it put in place in March.

The social network said Wednesday that all groups content from members who have broken its community standards elsewhere on the platform will be demoted, with the severity of these actions ramped up as more violations are accrued.

New feature Flagged by Facebook shows group administrators content that has been flagged for removal before it is seen by the broader community, and admins can then review and remove that content themselves or request a review by Facebook, at which point they can provide additional feedback on why they believe the content in question should remain.

The social network said, “Flagged by Facebook involves admins in content review earlier in the process, before members receive a strike and content is removed.”
