Elon Musk Reportedly Plans to Slash Twitter’s Workforce By 50% Friday

The company’s work-from-anywhere policy is being rescinded for employees who remain

A different kind of Black Friday dawns at Twitter following reports that roughly 3,700 jobs, or about one-half of the company’s workforce, will be eliminated this Friday.

Edward Ludlow and Kurt Wagner of Bloomberg reported that new Twitter owner Elon Musk is focused on slashing costs at the company following his $44 billion deal to acquire it.

Twitter did not respond to a request for comment.

Affected employees will be notified Friday, Ludlow and Wagner reported, adding that the policy enabling employees to work from anywhere will end, and those who are left will be required to work from Twitter’s offices, with some possible exceptions.
