Discord: How to Mute Channels in a Server

Hide the chats you're not interested in

It’s no secret that sports marketing is one of the hottest topics on marketers' minds. Determine the best way for your brand to show up at ADWEEK Brand Play: A Sports Marketing Summit. Register now to join in NYC or virtually on May 9.

Each Discord server can have multiple “channels,” or group conversations focused on different topics. If you’re a member of a server that has channels you’re not interested in, you can mute them to stop receiving notifications about new messages in those channels. Our guide will show you how to mute a channel from within the Discord mobile application.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Discord app on iOS.

Step 1: While viewing a channel in the Discord app, tap the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap and hold on the channel you wish to mute.
