Current Affairs Facebook Pages Toe the Ideological Line in Posts on the Biden Administration

Pew Research Center analyzed 5,458 posts from 25 pages from March 8 through 14

A study of 25 popular Facebook pages focused on current affairs, conducted by think tank Pew Research Center, found that when it came to early assessments of the administration of President Joe Biden, posts from those pages were consistent with their self-identified ideological orientations.

Pew used data from Facebook-owned public insights tool CrowdTangle to narrow down the roughly 11,510 pages that included at least one post about the Biden administration in the first three months of 2021 that received at least one view down to 25 pages by calculating total monthly interactions from October through December 2020 and eliminating pages based outside of the U.S.
