Nonprofit media rating company Common Sense Media is adding podcast ratings on its platforms so listeners can identify the shows that are appropriate for kids and families.

Top line

The company has applied the same rating method it uses for other media like TV, books and games, to podcasts.

The ratings will show whether the content covers areas that qualify as family-friendly, like educational value for families, co-listening quality for kids and parents, diverse representation and audio quality.
