Clubhouse’s Backchannel feature allows users to send direct messages to other users without leaving the Clubhouse application. By default, all users can receive message requests from other Clubhouse users. However, users can also turn this feature off if they don’t want to receive message requests from other people.
Our guide will show you how to disable message requests in Clubhouse’s Backchannel feature.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Clubhouse app on iOS.
Step 1: On the Clubhouse home screen, tap the paper airplane icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap the three dots at the top of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “Disable Message Requests.”

By default, your Backchannel inbox is split into two tabs: Chats and Requests.
