The pandemic was tough on the theatre industry. When theaters reopened in September 2021, trade association the Broadway League turned to augmented reality to capture theatre-goers’ imagination.

In partnership with the data activation arm of Ericsson, Emodo, The Broadway League launched the Holiday Show Globe, an AR campaign that ran for three weeks in December, in order to grow awareness and get people to buy tickets again. And while the company wouldn’t say exactly how the campaign drove sales, it did see an uptick in seats sold.
