We are at peak information overload, according to a new survey by Wunderman Thompson, University of Melbourne and Pollfish, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Of 23,500 surveyed participants in 24 countries, nearly two-thirds (58.3%) reported feeling overwhelmed by information. Similarly, over half (52%) of respondents have stopped paying attention to Covid-19 news, and 59.3% think the media is not telling them everything.

According to WHO, we are living in an “infodemic,” which is a pandemic of misinformation and information overload.

The study aimed to find the roots of the infodemic, studying social media and news habits in 18 to 40-year-olds.
