Westworld and All the Shows HBO Max Is Removing

By Jessica Lerner

HBO Max continues to make more cuts as the streamer will pull Westworld, The Nevers and Love Life from its library.

Additionally, The Nevers and Love Life have been canceled. The Nevers was canceled midway through its first season by HBO, with Variety reporting the remaining episodes may air on another platform. Love Life was axed after two seasons.

HBO previously canceled Westworld after four seasons back in November.

These removals and cancellations are just the latest in Warner Bros. Discovery’s cost-cutting measures.

HBO Max axed Minx on Monday, reversing course after greenlighting a second season back in May, following the cancellation of three unscripted reality series last week. The streamer is also removing Gordita Chronicles, the coming-of-age comedy series, which HBO Max canceled back in August.

More cuts and cancellations are looming as Warner Bros. Discovery plans to merge HBO Max and Discovery+ into a single streaming service, which is set to launch in spring 2023.

WBD CEO David Zaslav has defended the cancellations of multiple HBO Max shows and bigger-budget movies as a necessary business decision. According to Zaslav, WBD looks at what viewers were watching on HBO Max and determines where to invest future funds.
