FREELANCE WEB PRODUCER/WRITER
KGO-TV/ABC7 is looking for a freelance Web Producer/Writer. This
person will work with the Web department team of producers on
writing, producing and editing content for abc7news.com.
This producer will work closely with the Senior Web Producer and
newsroom producers to determine site content and story selection.
This person will know how to re-purpose television-produced stories
and produce complimentary content to multiple, daily stories. This
producer will also produce and edit video.
All applicants should have ability to write interesting headlines,
stories, teasers and copyedit on deadline. (Writing test will be
given).
This is a 3 to 4 month freelance position.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 2 years Internet, broadcast or print news writing and
editing experience
• Excellent news judgment and strong writing skills
• Knowledge of Internet technologies including HTML
• Experience with imaging programs such as Photoshop and/or
Fireworks and experience with streaming video and video editing.
• Understanding of a newsroom editorial process as it relates to an
interactive, online and television environment
• Communicate clearly, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Desire to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven, intense breaking
news environment is a must
• Available to work weekends, evenings, early-morning hours and
holidays (FLEXIBILITY IS A MUST)
