Washington Post crowdsources Stewart/Colbert rally

By Steve Safran

The Washington Post is partnering with community-sourced website Intersect to open up coverage of the Stewart/Colbert rally this weekend. Writes WaPo:

“Here on washingtonpost.com and on Intersect’s site, we’ll be documenting the scene and asking those in attendance and those watching at home to weigh in on the politics vs. entertainment question. Please join us.”

The project is part of the Post’s “Story Lab” which it calls “The quest for journalism’s next frontier.” (Sounds familiar.) If you’re going to be on the ground at The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, sign up at the Intersect site and help report. Still, the Post has some reservations about the rally. Editorial writer Jonathan Capehart opines: “…in the world of politics faking something real or taking seriously something fake or whatever is risky.”
