Walking Dead Finale: Fans Lose It for Negan

The-Walking-Dead-Casts-Jeffrey-Dean-Morgan-as-NeganThe Walking Dead finales are always a little rough and last night was no different. According to Amobee Brand Intelligence, there were 520,731 Tweets around episode last night.

Twitter sentiment was 15 percent positive, 63 percent neutral, and 22 percent negative. Twitter went nuts at the very end, when Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a villain from the comic book, made an appearance. It looks like we’ll finally get to see him when the show picks up again in February. There was a lot less interest in Deanna Monroe, who was killed off last night. In total, between 8 p.m. and midnight ET there were 23,049 tweets around Negan compared to 18,180 tweets around Deanna.

That’s because Walking Dead fans are hardcore: they can handle a random death, but tease them about a character from the books showing up? They’re all about it. That’s why they keep coming back for more.
