#vinovine: Kobe Bryant posts his first Vine

In just a few months the NBA will return to TV. Kobe Bryant however won’t be as he recovers from a bad achilles injury. Instead, he’s using Vine to stay relevant during his absence from television and the NBA. After joining Twitter in January and Instagram in April, Kobe Bryant has officially joined Vine as of late last night. Bryant’s first Vine shows him jumping off a 40 foot high-dive into a pool, a pretty amazing given that he is recovering from this injury. This is part of his quest to show off his quick recovery. On Wednesday, Bryant took to Twitter to ask fans for some inspiration for his first Vine.

The Black Mamba has used Instagram to display his good spirits during rehab, and the Vine video was likely to show that he is far ahead of schedule in his recovery. Here’s the Vine:

NBA players have often been some of the earliest adopters and most avid users of social platforms, and there will almost certainly be a lot of Vines for TNT’s Inside the NBA crew to discuss next season.
