NBC News, ABC News, and CBS News have all made concerted efforts to skew younger by offering more digital options, but NBC News is perhaps doing the best job at speaking to younger audiences where they actually are.
Last January, the news network partnered with NowThisNews to produce short-form video. Now, NBC News became the first TV news organization to launch an official Kik account. The NBC News account on Kik, a mobile chat platform with 200 million users (is Facebook salivating yet?), will let users send messages with keywords like “politics” or “technology” and instantly receive news about the topics.
NBC News will also be able to push top stories and breaking news to Kik users via push alerts. The official NBC News account is “NBCNEWS.”
