Netflix has picked up romance drama series Sweet Magnolias for a third season.
Based on the New York Times bestselling series of novels from Sheryl Woods, the series follows three women, Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) a recent divorcee with three children re-entering the workforce, Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) a chef and owner of Sullivan’s Restaurant, and Helen (Heather Headley) a successful attorney. The three best friends help each other navigate the complexities of relationships, family and careers in the small town of Serenity in South Carolina.
Sheryl J. Anderson returns as showrunner.
Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias, which debuted Feb. 4 and ended with several cliffhangers, was among the 10-most-streamed original programs during the month of February, per Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings.
