Psychological Thriller Surface to Premiere in Late July on Apple TV+

By Jessica Lerner

What if you woke up one day and didn’t know your own secrets?

That’s the question the psychological thriller Surface attempts to answer when it premieres globally in late July on Apple TV+. The first three episodes will drop on Friday, July 29, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday.

Apple TV+ describes the upcoming series as a self-discovery story that asks whether people are pre-programmed to become who they are or if they make their own choices. Surface stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Sophie, a woman with severe memory loss due to a traumatic head injury, which may have been self-inflicted.

In addition to Mbatha-Raw, the cast includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, François Arnaud and Millie Brady.
