Storify rolls out snazzy new social storytelling design

By Cory Bergman

The social storytelling tool Storify — especially popular among journalists –debuted a big upgrade to its editor tools today, streamlining the process to build embeddable lists of social elements. Among the new features: more drag-and-drop editing, photo galleries for search results, larger embedded photos in stories and a new bookmarklet that makes it easy to grab social elements from around the web.

A new element of the bookmarklet allows users to save and share social items to a “Storypad.” You can grab media from any other user’s Storypad to include in your own social stories.

It’s also easier to find additional sources in the editor (click the “+” sign), including a real-time stream of curation from BreakingNews. (Full disclosure: I work there.)

In a blog post, Storify hints at new features on the horizon. “In the coming months, we are revising our entire reading experience, to make Storify a great place to read the news in a social way.”
