Another media company has come to the rescue of one of HBO Max’s casualties.

Starz has picked up Seasons 1 and 2 of Minx, the second of which will premiere on the premium cable network.

HBO Max canceled the series last month, reversing the Season 2 renewal, and removed the first season from its streaming platform, the latest in a lengthy list of scrapped content over the past year.

Starz parent company Lionsgate already produces Minx, making the landing spot a sensible one.

“We have always felt this show would be a perfect fit for our brand with our dedication to narratives by, about and for women,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO for Starz, in a statement. “Starz is proud to be the new home for this incredible show that has drawn in well-deserved critical acclaim. We’re excited to welcome Ellen and the talented ‘Minx’ team to the network and can’t wait to bring its passionate fans the second season.”

Created by Ellen Rapoport, Minx is set in 1970s Los Angeles and follows Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), a sincere young feminist, teams up with a scruffy publisher (Jake Johnson) to launch the first sensual magazine for women.

Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano and Oscar Montoya also star.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Starz family, and for the opportunity to introduce Minx to a brand new audience,” said Rapoport. “We’ve found the perfect home. Our writers, cast and crew have created something truly special in Season 2, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
