Squid Game Experience Coming to NYC

Have you ever wanted to be a part of Netflix’s Squid Game? (And no, we’re not talking about that one SNL sketch.)

Well, if you live in New York City, you’re in luck. A Netflix-approved, adults-only interactive experience from Immersive Gamebox is coming to a venue in the Lower East Side in September, allowing players to take part in the Squid Game without the threat of dying, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Two to six players at a time, 16 years or older, will navigate tasks based on the Netflix franchise, including Red Light, Green Light and Marbles, in the multiplayer game. The experience will use touch screens and motion sensing technology and will take place in the company’s Gameboxes, the news outlet reports.

“People are constantly seeking new and different ways to remain invested in their favorite content,” said Immersive Gamebox CEO Will Dean in a statement to THR. “To reimagine Netflix’s most popular show in an entirely new format offers customers more ways to stay connected to Squid Game.”

Netflix continues to prioritize Squid Game, which became the service’s most-watched show following its debut last year. The streamer has already greenlit a second season, and a spinoff reality series with a $45 million prize is also in the works.
