You’d think that a social TV shopping app might come from a show whose characters wear items you might find in a GQ or Glamour magazine. But FX and 20th Century Fox are tapping the biker (and “Sons of Anarchy” fan) retail market with a new iPad app.

The SOA app will use watermarking (listening for audio cues) from new episodes and Blue Ray DVDs to automatically prompt viewers to purchase items that characters are wearing. There will also be a timer option, that will make the items appear as long as you hit play on your TV and device at the same time.
