Roseanne Barr Sets Comedy Special at Fox Nation

Roseanne Barr has struck a deal with the Fox News streaming service Fox Nation to produce and star in a brand-new comedy special.

In the first quarter of 2023, a Roseanne Comedy Special will be released exclusively on the streamer. This will be Barr’s first stand-up special in 16 years.

Barr was one of Hollywood’s busiest stand-up comedians and actors in the 1980s and 1990s. Her comedy Roseanne had a nine-season run before being revived in 2018, when it became a big hit for ABC. However, the network canceled the series after she made a racist tweet against Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. ABC decided to kill off Barr’s character and restructured the series without her, retitling the series The Conners.

Roseanne is a comedy icon whose humor connects with the American audience like no other. Her ability to channel the challenges of everyday people and find the humor in it all has earned her the passionate following of millions of dedicated fans,” said Fox Nation President Jason Klarman in a statement. “We are thrilled to add her comedy special exclusively to the Fox Nation catalog.”

A Roseanne Comedy Special is another addition to Fox Nation’s expanding library of programming, shows like Duck Family Treasure, Sharon Osbourne: To Hell & Back, and the upcoming Kevin Costner-starrer Yellowstone: One-Fifty.
