RAW and Rob Lowe Lead Social Pack

WWE Raw
Labor Day Weekend saw TV viewers quiet on social media, but once Monday night came, they were all over WWE RAW and the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe. The Nielsen Social Content Ratings for Friday—Monday are out, and they show people were also talking about CBS’s Big Brother (as usual).

A quick word on how Nielsen calculates these numbers: Uniques are “Unique social media accounts that have authored original content related to a linear TV episode or engaged with that content.” Interactions are “Original social media posts related to a linear TV episode and the engagement with that content.” So think accounts vs. posts.

Rob LoweFrom Friday to Monday, the show with the most uniques (182,000) and interactions (413,000) was WWE Monday Night RAW. What’s interesting to note is that those who post about RAW do so more often (2.27 times) about the show than do those watching other shows. Compare that to Monday night’s The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe (AKA The Roast of Ann Coulter). It had the second most unique accounts posting about the show (138,000) but 242,000 interactions, for an average of 1.75 posts per account. Wrestling fans are passionate—but you don’t need Nielsen to tell you that.

CBS’s Big Brother had the third best social score over the long weekend (143,000 uniques/187,000 interactions). The STARZ crime show Power did very well, coming in second place on Sunday and fourth overall for the weekend (85,000 uniques/141,000 interactions).

In case you’re wondering how those powerhouse Kardashians are doing, the answer is … not so well in the social rankings. Their Sunday show on E! had 15,000 uniques and 22,000 interactions. That’s only a little better than Friday’s Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC and Bring It! on Lifetime. Has social media tired of the Kardashians? Could it be?
