Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football Keeps Scoring Big Ratings

By Jessica Lerner

Thursday Night Football featuring the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears averaged 10.5 million viewers on Prime Video.

Thus far, TNF has received an average of 10.8 million viewers through its first five weeks. Like previous weeks, TNF on Prime Video surpassed all other linear programs on broadcast and cable for the evening.

The audience for NFL games on TNF on Prime Video continues to be younger than for the tri-cast on Fox, NFL Network and Prime Video last year.

So far this season, TNF on Prime has averaged 2.51 million viewers in the 18-34 demographic and 5.45 million in the 18-49 demographic, 48% and 25% higher than the TNF average through the first five weeks of 2021, respectively.

During the Commanders and Bears game, 48% of the audience was in the 18-49 demo, and 21% of the audience was in the 18-34 demo. For last year’s comparable TNF matchup on a tri-cast of Fox, NFL Network and Prime Video, the audience was 37% for the 18-49 demo and 15% for 18-34.
