Prey Breaks Hulu Records

By Jessica Lerner

Hulu’s action-thriller Prey has had a record-breaking few days.

A prequel to the Predator franchise, the film is the No. 1 premiere on Hulu to date, including all film and TV series debuts. Additionally, Prey is also the most watched movie debut on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star Banner in all other regions, according to the number of hours seen in the first three days of its release. Neither Hulu nor Disney, though, shared the total hours viewed.

Prey tells the tale of Naru, a young woman who has grown up in the shadow of some of the most illustrious hunters ever to wander the Great Plains. Naru, a tough and highly talented warrior, sets out to defend her people when danger approaches her camp. A highly evolved extraterrestrial predator with a technologically advanced arsenal is the prey she hunts and eventually confronts, leading to a fierce and scary showdown between the two foes.
