Peacock announced its slate of new and returning original programming for May.
Angelyne premieres May 19. The series, based on a 2017 Hollywood Reporter feature by Gary Baum, chronicles the life of the L.A. billboard icon. Emmy Rossum stars as the titular blonde bombshell.
Girls5Eva is back for a second season on May 5. The series follows a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 1990s who reunite for another shot at superstardom. Season 2 will chronicle the group’s attempt to record their first studio album in years. The cast includes Sara Bareilles, Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps and Paula Pell.
Zac Efron stars in Firestarter, a re-imagining of the 1984 film based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. A couple (Efron, Sydney Lemmon) desperately try to hide their daughter, Charlie (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her remarkable gift for turning fire into a weapon of mass destruction. Firestarter premieres May 13.
