The 12th season of the MTV series “Made” is adding a social media twist with an expanded name, “Made #DreamBigger.” Variety says it’s the first instance of a TV program actually changing its name to incorporate a hashtag, and MTV told the trade mag that the hope is the hashtag will help drum up more Twitter love. The season premiere aired last night.
A search of the #dreambigger hashtag shows a few organic mentions from people watching the show along with a smattering of unrelated hashtag mentions. For example, Dream Bigger just happens to be the name of a new Ashton Kutcher-backed show on YouTube featuring the “best, up-and-coming creators from NY and LA.” So naturally…

Regardless, it’s interesting to see a hashtag integrated into a TV show title, and I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of it.
