Netflix Announces New Kids Series on Heels of Axing Animated Projects

Netflix has new series and new seasons coming this year as the streamer continues to build on the success of its kids animated series.

“Whether it is the thrill of dinosaurs chasing you in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, laughter with familiar friends from Boss Baby or the breathtaking adventures of upcoming series Sonic Prime, Daniel Spellbound and My Dad the Bounty Hunter, Netflix is the home of your favorite characters,” the streamer said in a statement. “Our kids animated series can excite imaginations, stir emotions, and make spirits soar.”

The news comes on the heels of Netflix’s decision not to move forward with several animated projects.

Most prominent is the cancellation of the Meghan Markle-created animated series, Pearl, a family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in various influential women throughout history.

Last week, the streamer scratched two other kids animated series that were in production — Dino Daycare and the South Asian-inspired adventure Boons and Curses.

Returning favorites include a new interactive special Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous: Hidden Adventure and new episodes of The Cuphead Show!, Sharkdog and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Upcoming animated series for Netflix include Daniel Spellbound, Dead End: Paranormal Park, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, Sonic Prime and We Lost Our Human.
