NBC News Launches Amazon Fire App

nbcnews amazon fireNBC News is live on Amazon Fire as of yesterday. The app will livestream over the air content, so cord cutters don’t have to miss a press conference or breaking news. There will be a stash of top segments and interviews from TODAY, NBC Nightly News and Meet the Press.

There will also be content you can’t get over the air:

  • Flashback: an original series fueled by NBC News’ expansive video archive; this series will also include “RetroTech,” a nostalgic look back at the technology of yesteryear.
  •  Digital Originals:  exclusive video segments that you will not find on the live broadcast, like Nightly Films or TODAY’s Shortcuts. These series are produced in a variety of compelling formats, from animation to vérité documentary, all powered by the depth and authority of NBC News.
  • Meet the Candidates: a series of probing interviews with Presidential candidates from one of the finest and enduring names in political journalism, Meet the Press.

The app can be downloaded on Amazon or from Fire TV. NBC News says that they plan on releasing more original content on the platform in coming months.
