Jimmy Fallon plugs band on TV with QR code

The crazy kids at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon continue to impress. On Wednesday night’s show, Fallon held up a QR code — instead of an album cover — to introduce a band on the show. Here’s the clip:

Sure, not everyone has a QR code scanner on their phone (I use “Scan” on my iPhone), but it was enough to get people talking about it. The band, “Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats of Odd Future,” was making its TV debut. When viewers scanned the QR code (also works off the YouTube clip), the band’s website pops up with a clip of its music video. For awhile, that music video became a YouTube trending topic.
