Internet Content Producer, Ottaway Newspapers
Ottaway Newspapers, Inc.,with corporate offices located in the scenic
Hudson Valley of NY (approximately 1 hour north of NYC) is seeking a
savvy Content Producer for our corporate Internet Team. You will be
providing centralized services to our 8 daily and 22 weekly
publications, and will be part of a dynamic New Media team. Your
responsibilities entail overseeing the centralized production of
verticals content (auto, jobs, real estate, local search) and for
Lifestyles and Entertainment content
Responsibilities:
Assist locations with verticals, Lifestyle and Entertainment content
production and distribution by utilizing the right corporate
resources, local resources and vendor resources to assure maximum
audience growth in all our markets. Assist locations with Visitor’s
Guide content roll- out and maintenance. Be a central resource for all
locations in Landing Page development, UGC, hyperlocal and other guide
content. Be a central resource for assisting in providing e-mail and
text alerts on top national stories. Work with vendors to keep ahead
of new developments in content and features. Explore Web 2.0 mashups
and functionality with other corporate team members.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in related field, or a combination of education and experience
to equal 5 years of new media experience. A minimum of 3 years
experience in overseeing and executing new media content production.
Print newspaper or magazine experience is fine, but not required.
Candidate should know their way around a newsroom, speak their
language and be familiar with roles and responsibilities in a news
environment. Broadcast or newswire experience also welcomed. Prior
experience with site design and roll-outs and/or project management
methodologies and tools (MS Project, Visio) desired. Another plus
would be experience in training co-workers, clients and others in use
of a Web site, software and other related fields. Must be an
extrovert. Must be able to work independently, and be comfortable on
deadline and with multitasking. Some overnight travel should be
expected (New England and West Coast).
