Hulu has canceled the comedy series Woke after two seasons, according to Deadline.

Co-created by Keith Knight and Marshall Todd, Woke premiered on Hulu in Sept. 2020. Season 2 premiered on April 8. The show was live-action with animated elements.

In Woke, black cartoonist Keef Knight (Lamorne Morris) is on the cusp of mainstream success. He takes pride in “keeping it light” and steers clear of provocative positions. But after being racially profiled by overly aggressive policemen, the traumatized Keef discovers he has the ability to see and hear inanimate objects speaking to him. Now Keef must figure out how to retain his relationships and a profession as a “woke” black guy as he is more aware of racism and the everyday microaggressions he had worked so hard to avoid addressing in every circumstance.
