Huge leap in online ad spending over 2005

Ad spending rose 5.6 percent in Q1 of 2006 compared with the same quarter of 2005. A good gain – but nothing compared to the gain in ad spending on the internet. Ad spending online in jumped an astonishing 46.4 percent over the first quarter of ’05. Spanish-language TV was the second-biggest gainer, with a 14.3 percent jump. But online ad buyer beware: click fraud is up, too.
