How 'True Blood' season five premiered on social [infographic]

The long awaited True Blood season five premiered on HBO as we find out what happened to Tara and what Bill and Eric’s fate will bring them. The TV event was sure to make a big splash on social as one of TV’s biggest Sunday night’s of the year ensued. Bluefin Labs provided Lost Remote with an analysis on the buzz.

According to Bluefin, True Blood:

— Ranked #1 all-time for most comments for a premium cable season premiere

— Ranked #2 all-time for most comments for a cable drama season premiere (Pretty Little Liars is #1)

— Ranked #6 all-time for most comments for any season premiere (all genres, all network types)

The most buzz was not surprisingly at the beginning of the episode as fans awaited to see what would happen. There were over 234,000 comments on Twitter. This season is sure to be another one that consumers will flock to find their friends’ GO passwords. The network promoted the new interactive features with exclusive content on GO and an upcoming HBO Connect chat taking place today at 2pm Eastern with Rutina Wesley, who plays Tara.

GetGlue also provided us with some insights on the premiere:

There were over 79K check-ins for the premiere and over 160K check-ins for the week, “which included Coming Soon stickers and a trailer as well as Fan Favorite Moment stickers (season four had 38k).” The most talked about moment was, “Pam’s outfit when she was being buried next to Tara, Eric’s ‘relationship’ with his sister, and how pissed Tara is going to be when she finds out she’s a vampire.”
