miley VMAsThe VMAs are this weekend, so we’ll see you on Twitter. Shazam looked to see how the nominees for Video of the Year are faring on their service, so you might want to put your money on Ed Sheeran.

  • Ed Sheeran has been Shazamed 35.3 million times overall – “Thinking Out Loud” has been Shazamed 13.4 million times and is the No. 9 most Shazamed track of all time in the Shazam Hall of Fame
  • Mark Ronson has been Shazamed 11.6 million times overall – “Uptown Funk” featuring Bruno Mars has been Shazamed 10.3 million times and is the No. 29 most Shazamed track of all time in the Shazam Hall of Fame
  • Beyoncé has been Shazamed 20.7 million times overall – “7/11″ has been Shazamed 1.5 million times
  • Taylor Swift has been Shazamed 27.2 million times overall – “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar has been Shazamed 1 million times
  • Kendrick Lamar has been Shazamed 20 million times overall – “Alright” has been Shazamed 240 thousand times

And just to prove that even a snub can help you out, Nicki Minaj made headlines when she took to Twitter to ask why “Anaconda” wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year. How does the track from the Queen of Hip Hop compare to the other nominees? Nicki has been Shazamed more than 29.7 million times overall and “Anaconda” has been Shazamed more than 1.9 million times.
