House of the Dragon: The Targaryen Dynasty Experience Is Coming

By Jessica Lerner

In collaboration with HBO Max, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is bringing you House of the Dragon: The Targaryen Dynasty, a brand-new, one-of-a-kind experience. Visitors can tour the 2,500-square-foot display, which runs from Aug. 5 through Sept. 7, to learn more about the Targaryen dynasty, the dragons that served them and the fictional world of Westeros.

The House of the Dragon experience includes lessons in the Valyrian language, original show costumes and series artifacts, such as dragon eggs. Visitors will also be able to sit on a replica of a new Iron Throne that will be on display and accessible for photo opportunities.

HBO and HBO Max will begin airing the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon on Aug. 21. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the 10-episode drama is set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the powerful Targaryen family and a civil war that took place known as the Dance of the Dragons.
