Funny or Die Launches News App

By Karen Fratti

funny or die newsflashWe could all use a little more humor when it comes to the news, so it’s a good thing that Funny or Die released a news app today. Funny or Die News Flash will provide viewers with quick, to the point headlines. Like on the Netflix reboot of Full House, they spoke to Dan Coultier who “lied,” when he said he had to clear his schedule.

Some other sample headlines:

“A recent survey found that 40% of Republicans don’t believe in global warming. Ironically their rhetoric accounts for the majority of the world’s hot air.”  “Six Kansas school districts are ending the school year early because of budget cuts. Actually eight are closing, but the person who counted went to school in Kansas.”

You can scroll the headlines, which are just little punchlines like above. Or click through to a full story, which includes a full video, and an option to share on social media.

Funny or Die News Editor in Chief, Dan Abramson said in an official statement that, “It seems like every reputable news outlet has a dedicated app. And now a non-reputable news outlet does, too.” Touche, sir. The app is available for download for Android or iOs. And don’t worry, the one thing they won’t report on? ISIS. Because ISIS “is terrifying.”
