Footwear Ads Run Off With Top Digital Advertising Engagement Figures

It’s time to take a look at the top 10 ads of the week by digital share of voice*, powered by tracks TV ads in real-time and allows customers to monitor social actions, search activity and online video views associated with TV spots across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Bing, and Yahoo!

This week was all about shoes, with three ads from athletic footwear companies holding spots in the top five most engaging spots. Nike held the first and fifth positions with a pair of ads focused on different customer segments. Taking first was the “Ripple” spot featuring Tiger Woods, apparently back in the good graces of sponsors again, and Rory McIlroy. The spot earned a 4.26% digital SOV on the strength of 3.3 million online views and over 36,000 social actions.

Nike’s fifth-place spot “Better for It: Inner Thoughts” focused more specifically on women engaging in a variety of different sports and workouts, earning a 1.26% digital SOV with 1.1 million online views and nearly 10,000 social actions.

Adidas rounded out the trend at second place, with its “Here’s to the Takers” spot–which focused on the full gamut of sports played by both men and women–earning a 3.82% digital SOV powered by 4.1 million online views and almost 24,000 social actions.

Meanwhile, the previous holder of the top spot, United Healthcare’s “Our Song,” fell to third but retained a respectable 3.81% digital SOV with just under 500,000 online views but an impressive social action count of close to 50,000 social actions.
