New York Fashion Week is in full swing until September 11th and like all things fashionable, it’s also pretty exclusive. But the way #NYFW14 is trending on social media, it’s a shame it’s not broadcast on primetime television. It’s not exactly captivating television for the layman, but the audience is dedicated.
Luckily, they don’t have to be in New York or in Prabal Gurung to get a front row fix thanks to second screen options for streaming the shows.
New York Fashion Week Live has dibs on all of the shows, with the easiest to decipher schedule of upcoming shows and navigable menus for highlights and rebroadcasts.
E! online has a livestream of all of the shows, but you have to know what you’re looking for. Digital fashion outlets all have varying degrees of live streaming. The best come from digital first pubs like The Cut or Video Fashion Week. In a close second, Elle and Harper’s have functioning and user friendly ways to watch the shows.
It seems like Vogue or WWD should have dibs on a good livestream, but it’s near impossible to find a full length replay on either site. Probably because the entire staff is out parading their street-style looks this week.
The bad side to watching NYFW from your couch? Every livestream everywhere opens with the same commercial for Dune, in varying lengths. E! makes you watch a full 120 seconds of it before you’re allowed to see the good stuff, which is enough to make anyone want to tune out — at least it’s (sort of) quiet on Twitter.
