We’re halfway through August, which means that the summer’s end is near. Fall TV season is slowly but surely kicking into high gear, and even though it’s not even Labor Day, networks are using social to begin to tease and build buzz for their new shows. Lost Remote has learned exclusively that CBS.com has launched their new “Fall Previews Hub” with some brand new social features.

The social features that are built into their fall TV push:

Flock to Unlock,” the first big social feature, “will enable fans to work together via tweets to unlock an exclusive photo from the premiere of each primetime show from the new season,” according to CBS.com. Then, “once they’ve unlocked all the photos across all the shows, they’ll gain access to an exclusive video highlight from the upcoming season.” CBS is going beyond just a “please follow us to get a trailer” by making a social experience that forces participation, and you can track the progress of each “flock to unlock” effort by show right here.

On Facebook they’ve rolled out a new app call “CBS Premiere Party,” to invite your friends to watch a CBS premiere together. All you need to do is get 20 friends to RSVP to be entered to win an entertainment system. By engaging with CBS content leading up to the premieres you could also win up to $1,000 to cater your party.

What this mean’s for social TV:

This is a major statement from CBS telling their fans, followers and linear audiences as well that we will reward you, if you take the time to check out our new shows and get to know them better in time for the premiere. Stay tuned for more reporting about fall season social TV efforts…
