Disney+ Adds First R-Rated Movies With Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and Logan

Disney+ is shaking things up by adding some R-rated superhero films to its traditionally family-friendly library.

Starting Friday, July 22, subscribers can watch Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and Logan on the streamer.

Disney encourages subscribers to review their parental control settings to ensure their families feel comfortable with the viewing experience.

Deadpool tells the origin story of Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces member who adopts the alter ego Deadpool after being subjected to a rogue experiment that left him with fast healing abilities. Deadpool searches for the person who almost wrecked his life with the help of his new skills and a wicked, twisted sense of humor.

In the sequel, Deadpool assembles a group of other mutant outlaws to defend a small child with extraordinary abilities from the cruel, time-traveling cyborg Cable.

In Logan, a worn-out titular character tends to an ill Professor X at a hideout on the Mexican border in the near future. But when a young mutant shows up, he is being hunted by evil powers, and Logan’s attempts to flee the world and his heritage are thwarted.
